School Facilities

Ikast-Brande Gymnasium and IB is located in a dynamic town in the middle of Jutland. The municipality and the town of Ikast have a large international community with a large number of globally oriented companies in the area.

Ikast is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is within driving distance of towns such as Herning, Viborg , Silkeborg and Aarhus.

Ikast has good public transportation systems with all municipal buses being free to ride. The town also offers easy access to trains if you want to explore Denmark.

Our school
Ikast-Brande Gymnasium and IB has 600 students and 60 teachers. Our school is a close-knit community where you will get a chance to know the majority of your schoolmates and teachers because of the relatively small school size.

Our school is known for its big annual music productions performed at a local theatre. These performances are open to the public as well as to parents, students and teachers.

The school has modern, well-equipped computer facilities with wireless network throughout the schools and projectors in each classroom. All teachers and students use the program “Lectio”, a website which displays coursework, timetable, grades, assignments and more – all in one spot.

Ikast-Brande Gymnasum and IB is involved in the global awareness program Global High Schools, we offer all of our students a free TOEFL test, and our school has
annual exchanges with American and German partner schools. 

Our school has a close cooperation with the local branch of the University of Aarhus, the 2nd largest university in Denmark. The local campus offers continuing education in English.
