Pre-IB and IB

First day of school for Pre-IB and IB DP

Welcome to Ikast-Brande Gymnasium

We are excited to welcome our pre-IB and first year IB students to school on August 9th.

  • Pre-IB students begin at 8.15 in room 107.
  • IB DP students begin at 9.40 in room 107.

You may buy lunch in our canteen (cards or mobile pay only, no cash) or bring your own lunch.

The first day of school will end at 13.45 for the pre-IB students and at 15.05 for the IB students.

We’ll spend the day getting to know each other, giving you more information about the school and the year.

Please bring your laptop as you’ll also be given passwords and an introduction to our IT system, after which you’ll be able to see your schedule, homework etc.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 9th of August.

Info for international students

When coming to Denmark from abroad you need to be aware of the following:

Please stay updated on the status of your country.

You can see recent updates here: Categorization-of-countries

Partially vaccinated or NOT vaccinated

If you have NOT been vaccinated or have received only your first shot in your home country, please contact the school counsellor, Karen Ronge Baktoft, at:

Please be aware that the vaccinations offered in Denmark are:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech
  • Moderna

If you are fully vaccinated

The travel restrictions for people travelling on the basis that they are fully vaccinated depend on whether you fulfil the Danish conditions for being classified as fully vaccinated.

In Denmark, you are considered to be fully vaccinated once you have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and at least two weeks and no more than eight months have elapsed since you completed your course of vaccination. It is also a requirement that you are able to document this through the presentation of a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate, or by documenting that your permanent residence is in an EU or Schengen country, or in Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, the Vatican City, an OECD member state (including Greenland and the Faroe Islands) or in a yellow third country.

Danish citizens, including Danish expats, who are able to document that they have completed a course of vaccination with an EMA-approved vaccine – regardless of in which country the vaccination was administered – will be considered to be fully vaccinated.

Fully vaccinated people are exempt from the requirements to be tested and isolate on arrival in Denmark unless they have been in a red country/region during the 10 days preceding their arrival.

Keep updated at:

Various rules apply to travels to Denmark depending on how you arrive in Denmark and your ties with or your purpose of entering Denmark.

Please see the following link for a complete online guide: Entry into Denmark

Ikast-Brande Gymnasium does not offer students any insurance while they stay in Denmark and students are not covered by any school insurance.

Please make sure that your child is insured while studying and living in Denmark. We recommend insurance coverage which covers liability, accidents, and theft. You may wish to insure your child beyond these three types of insurances. Please note that the school does not take any responsibility for insurance coverage while your child studies in Denmark.

Please mark your calendar for the upcoming Parent Night at Pre-IB

If you do not live in Denmark there will be an option to participate online. Further information will follow.
